Rather than a block colour perhaps colour the images on the wall, make sure the graphics defining the girl are strong. Experiment.
Another thought. The first sketch of the girl with more detail of the gallery may also be worth experimenting with. Again add colour to some of the images on the gallery wall. I have a feeling this may be after all (!) the stronger sketch.Do 2 and see which looks the best.
