IDEAS FOR FILMING

COLOUR

Because we had so many different locations we needed a way in which we could link each one in order for our video to not seem like a montage of broken clips. We decided the best way to do this would be both through the edit of similar shots, e.g a train leaving and a moving shot of a railing, and also through the colour of each of the locations.

The first location that we filmed in was Cambridge and so this was where the initial colour shots formed, immediately we saw that red, blue and green would be the best colours to use as there were many places we could film with variations of these colours e.g the Fitzwilliam museum had a red interior or the river that was surrounded by grass and trees.

We also needed the other locations for our corresponding colours, and so the filming in Norwich of the Antique hall and Elm Hill would be layered either behind or in front of the red inside the museum. The green of the river would be paired with the green shots from Cromer and also the Plantation garden shots. The blue clips from the river and the other areas within the museum would correspond with the sea from Cromer and also the blue coloured houses.

  1. Some promising planning Rose. In order to strengthen try to make inter-textual references, for example what films, TV dramas, music videos, news stories, artists, genre characteristics etc have inspired your ideas

Keep up the good work, will mark in more detail next week.
