The magazine advertisements is similar to Tenniel's graphics in the original edition of Alice in Wonderland. (Google Tenniel and Alice in Wonderland and upload image) This comparison reinforces the notion of a journey of discovery much like Alice's though less surreal. Thus adding a further layer of meaning to the advertisement whilst thematically linking to the performer's intellectual awakening in the music video.
